TARGETS
Screengrab editing techniques.
When you write about your own work (www and ebi) you need to look more closely and work out exactly what it is that you do well and what needs to be improved. At the moment you always write the same thing. Do you meet the success criteria? What subject-specific language could you use to make your annotations sound more sophisticated?
When you take photographs, try different compositions, distances and points of focus so you have a breadth to choose from.

Mirroring and Reflecting
In this task I developed an image using the mirroring process. I did this by mirroring one of my 'look up' images four times
Hello miss, I tried doing this in the holidays, following the instructions but I couldn't. Is there any way you could help me please?
4 Composition Types
Composition is the arrangement of shapes (or forms) in an image – their position, relationship to one another and to the image as a whole. Photographers, like other artists, compose their images to create certain effects and to affect the viewer.
In this task, I was required to describe the four composition types, find an example online of each one. I also needed to, upload all my images from my lesson in a gallery, edit my best examples for each composition type and put them on weebly, labelled clearly.

Rule of Thirds
The rule of thirds is a grid that breaks your image up into thirds. Placing the key part of the image either along the vertical or horizontal lines will make the image more aesthetically pleasing. Placing the key part of the image at a point where the lines intersect is more aesthetically pleasing. |
Layers
This involves including other elements at varying distances from the camera to add depth to an image. What this does is it allows the viewer’s eye to be led through the image and to bounce from one element to another. The effect is better visually when you have at least three dominant layers in your image — foreground, middle, and background. |
My Response
Edit best examples for each composition type. Did you take any in school?

Formal Elements
.The Formal Elements are the language of picture making. There are traditionally seven but are sometimes extended for photography to move.
In this task I was required to define what formal elements are and name the seven we have focussed on. I had to create a gallery and have an example for each of the seven formal elements.

Decay
The task here was to look for areas of the school where the natural elements have led to the decay of the built and man-made environment over time.
Jacquet-Lagrèze is a French photographer who has been based in Hong Kong since 2009. Wild Concrete is about the resilience of nature in an urban environment. Focusing solely on the phenomena of trees sprouting from residential buildings in the busy districts of Hong Kong, Wild Concrete compares the living conditions between plants and humans both growing in a harsh surroundings. The trees share the same exceptional qualities as their human counterparts: perseverance, diligence and independence.

Independent development
In this task we chose 7 different styles of photography and choose one to do. I chose "bending the horizon" this is where we bend the horizon to make it look like the world is flat and that there is an ending.

Petey Ulatan is an artist, graphic designer and photographer who has a diverse body of work, stemming through a decade of creative pursuits. From surrealist art, contemporary design, to different genres of photography; his journey has crafted an artist not restricted by the rules of tradition. He explores the imagination and takes inspiration from comic books, Manga and science fiction films. Petey has developed his diverse aesthetic through his travels around the world. One area of his work involves re-shaping reality into his dream world an how it would look if it was a cube. he does this by manipulating landscapes and cities. he creates geometric, dream-like , surreal landscapes, using reflection and symmetry to explore the impossible and makes the viewer ask themselves what it would be like if the world was really like that.
